Laos – a hidden secret

We followed our local guide through rice paddies, climbing bamboo ladders over barbed wire fences, crossing bridges made from a plank of wood. Then came the suspension bridge spanning a fairly large river.

Andalusia at its best

October is the perfect time to travel to Andalusia, the southern part of Spain. The weather was perfect, high twenties every day and the most beautiful blue skies. The people are beautiful, very friendly.

A rock at the rock

We stopped at Mutitjulu Walk where our driver and guide escorted us to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. Along the way we were taught about some native flora and the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru.

We came over the ridge and from the top through the fog I could just make out the rusted buildings and machinery that stood like ghosts.

Showing off slightly, my final run took me past an impressed Carlos at some speed and as I reached the Indian Army I ground to a clean and even stop waving my stocks at the smiling and clapping troops.

Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument. The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks.

Sri Lanka by train bus and tuk-tuk

Kandy was hosting a festival, the Kandy Esala Perahera festival. It is a 10 days festival with Elephant Parades every night, it was incredibly colourful. There are about 400 elephants from all over the country participating.

Nobody is famous in Timor

Ahead of me is Rui Maria de Araújo, the current prime minister of Timor Leste. He too is struggling, although he started on the front of the grid.
